Extra Curricular
At Aston House we know how difficult timing can be for busy parents. We operate pre and after school care at the minimal charge of £2.50 per half hour. In the Junior After school care, the children have numerous activities including Art, physical exercise and games. At the Senior site, apart from the extra curricular clubs, there is also a homework club. Here the children can complete their homework whilst still in ‘school’ mode , leaving them free to relax at home. There is always a teacher on site who can advise them if necessary. Both sites provide tea for the children in after school care.
This facility can be arranged either on a regular basis or as and when needed. Details are available on request.

Creativity
Throughout the school you will see examples of Art Work, for all the children are encouraged to use their artistic and creative skills. We have school drama productions twice a year.
The Nursery and KS1 put on a traditional Christmas presentation every year. The SS prepare a school production for the end of the Spring Term. In each case every child takes part.
Musical events take place during the year, either in the school hall or at an external venue.
The annual Art Exhibition gives every pupil the opportunity to show off their skill with some artwork for sale.
Poetry Evening is a combination of recitation and dramatic production with the older children encouraged to write their own material.
Additional Music
Children wishing to learn to play an instrument can choose between flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano,violin and recorder.(Recorder is taught in group sessions.)
These instrumental lessons take place during the school day, but in rotation, so no child misses the same lesson each week . Pupils are entered for external exams.
