To view the school, ring the school secretary, Mrs Rhoades, to arrange an appointment, where you will meet the Head and be taken on a tour of the school. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and to see the school in action. It is advisable to register your child after this visit. The registration fee is £50.
We take children in the nursery at any time during the year. From Reception upwards however, children are expected to start in the Autumn Term, unless they are moving house or changing school.
There is no assessment for children entering the Nursery, but parents are asked to complete a child profile guide, so that staff can know the child’s likes and dislikes. Parents are also required to complete a health form and to declare any allergies or food preferences.
In the Nursery and Junior School your child will be informally assessed after registration, by being invited to come in to the classroom and spend the morning alongside current pupils.
In the Senior school, once registered, pupils are invited to sit an assessment test to ascertain what they have studied so far. This test indicates reading ability and reasoning skills. If it became clear that the child would not be able to cope with the level of study, the place would not be offered, since this would clearly be detrimental to the child’s confidence.
Once an offer has been made and accepted, a deposit of £400 is payable to secure the place.
