Independent Schools Association

The children's pastoral care is an integral part of the duties of their class teacher. Parents are encouraged to discuss any problems, that the children are unable to resolve themselves with their class teacher. If the problem persists, the class teacher and/or parent should speak to the Deputy Head or Head teacher.
The Golden Rules
These rules are displayed throughout the school. All pupils from Reception to Year 6 are expected to know them and act accordingly. Each classroom displays a copy of the Golden Rules but our behaviour policy is not primarily concerned with rule enforcement. It is a means of promoting good relationships, so that people can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn. This policy supports the school community in aiming to allow everyone to work together in an effective and considerate way.
The Good to be Green Behaviour Programme
We have a code of behaviour at Buxlow because we want our school to be a safe, happy place for everyone, so that we can all do our best at work and play.
We can help everyone feel safe and happy by showing respect for one another.
Prefects and Other Posts of Responsibility
Every child in Year 6 is given the opportunity to apply for a post of responsibility. These range from Librarian to Head Girl. They fill an application form and their application is carefully considered by all staff.
