St Nicholas School

St Nicholas School is a small, friendly preparatory school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11. Established seventy five years ago, St. Nicholas has a unique and charming atmosphere, seldom found in schools today. The school buildings consist of a large converted detached house, extended to accommodate the classrooms.The well-equipped playground and lawned area provide ample space for outdoor learning and play.

Our Aims

At St Nicholas School we aim to:

provide a broad and balanced education which promotes the pupils’ personal, social and physical development as well as their academic skills;
ensure that the pupils are well equipped to perform to the best of their abilities in examinations for selection to secondary schools;
provide a caring, nurturing environment with a family atmosphere where the children can be happy and develop their self-confidence, enthusiasm and independence to succeed;
encourage a high academic standard incorporating traditional values which enables our children to grow as individuals and achieve their full potential whatever their talents may be.

St Nicholas School was established in 1937 and has a strong family atmosphere. Many families have long established links with the school. Our children feel safe and nurtured by the dedicated and professional staff. This environment leads to happy children working successfully to reach their full potential. Children work towards their 11+ examinations and are well prepared for the next phase of their education.
